FAQs

WHAT TYPES OF PROBLEMS ARE TREATED?

In general, any emotional difficulty or life stress can be addressed in therapy. This practice also offers specialized treatments for panic attacks, trauma, worry and generalized anxiety, social phobia, specific phobias, depression, and insomnia.

DOES TELE-THERAPY WORK?

Research has shown that tele-therapy is just as effective as in-person care. Many people feel more comfortable receiving therapy in the comfort of their home.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I do not accept insurance; however, I do provide a statement which you can submit to your insurance provider. Some plans will provide you with a reimbursement for a percentage of the fees, but this is not guaranteed. Please speak directly with your insurance provider about your coverage or the percentage that will be reimbursed.

How much do sessions cost?

Sessions are $325 for a 50-minute session, which are scheduled weekly. This rate also applies to the initial intake session. Fees are due at the time of the scheduled session. All major credit cards are accepted.

DO YOU PROVIDE GOOD FAITH ESTIMATES?

Yes, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THERAPY?

While taking the first step can be hard, many people find that they experience some relief upon just starting the process of addressing their struggles or past traumas. The therapeutic relationship is critical to successful therapy and we work together to develop an open and collaborative working relationship. Therapy is also active- the more you put in, the more you will get out. You may be asked to monitor your thoughts/behaviors or practice skills in between our appointments. The goal is that you will eventually become your own therapist!
